The Hellenic Aviation Society (HAS) (www.aviationsociety.gr) organizes its established biennial two day scientific conference titled “5th Aviation Conference: Air Transport of Today & Tomorrow”, 14-15 May 2018, at the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”, Spata, Athens, Greece.

The official language is Greek although English will be accepted on individual basis, with content covering the following topics:

  • Airlines, Policy & Strategy (Network carriers, Regionals, LCC’s, Airline Synergies, Training, Code Sharing, Alliances, Digitalization, Connectivity, Aeropolitics, etc.)
  • Aviation Law (Brexit on Aviation, Change in EASA Regulation on Drones & Super Lights)
  • Airports & Infrastructures (Privatization, PPP’s, A/P Commercialization, Investment, Infrastructure Planning, Airport Management, Maintenance, Hubs, Regional airports, etc.) 
  • ATC (SESAR, BLUE MED, NexGen, ATC Privatization, Remote Tower Operations, ADS-B, RNP, CDA, etc.)
  • Safety & Security: (Airport Security, Ramp handling safety, Baggage security, Facilitation, EU OPS, Biometrics, Legislation, etc.)
  • Environment & New technologies(ETS, Biofuels, New Engine Technology, New Aircraft Technology, Airport Environmental Management, Applications, Flying Cars, Drones etc.)      
  • General Aviation (Aviation Tourism, Seaplanes, Seaports etc.)
  • Cargo & Logistics (Infrastructure, Security, Regulatory & Legislative issues, Efficiency, etc.)
  • Aeromedical: (EMS, Flight Crew Condition Monitoring, Fear of flight, Post- Traumatic Stress arising from incidents or accidents, etc.)

Wednesday 04 April 2018: Submission of short presentation (up to 200 words) mailed to both Mr. Ioannis Stavlas (istavlas@gmail.com), and Mr. Dimitrios Karpouzas (karpedime@hotmail.com).
Additionally, a notification must be sent to Event Administration (Hasevents2018@gmail.com).
Wednesday 25 April 2018: Notification of Acceptance after revision by the Scientific Committee Board
Friday 04 May 2018: Submission of Final Presentation in electronic form (Power Point)
Friday 6 July 2018: Full Presentation(text) for conference minutes (optional), to be published in a special issue on Hellenic Aviation Society’s official website.
Selected presentations of particular research interest will be uploaded on the Journal of Air Transport Studies.

ConferenceFees
A flat rate of fifty (50) euros will apply to all participants.
In case of a joint paper, at least one of the co-authors must have paid his/her fee in advance, before the paper’s acceptance for presentation.
HAS members with their 2017 & 2018 subscriptions settled, are admitted free of charge.
Participants will enjoy two full meals and four coffee breaks with assortments during the two-day event.
