On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, was held the ceremony for the Health and Safety Awards 2018 at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Culture Center.
The Institution of the Health & Safety Awards, which takes place every two years, rewards and highlights the best practices in health and safety management at work sites by businesses, organizations, agencies and service providers.
This year’s higher award (WINNER) in the sector of Public Administration, awarded to ”Health and Safety System of the Ministry of National Defense”. The prize was received by the Head of Health and Safety and a member of the Hellenic Aviation Society (HAS), Lt. Colonel Panagiotis Sotiriadis (Air Force), who was the initiator for the participation and was responsible for the submission of the application file. This distinction is the best proof that there is an “other” public sector, which must be extrovert and present its work.
The Ministry of National Defense also received an HONOR PRIZE for “Raising Awareness of the Armed Forces Personnel on Health and Safety Issues’.
At the ceremony, companies such as Friesland Campina Hellas, Natural Gas Transmission System Operator (DESFA), Papastratos, Goldair Handling, Knauf Gypsery, Attica Gas Distribution Company, Hellenic Petroleum, OTE, OPAP, Mytilene, Halyps Building Materials, Motor Oil – Corinth Refineries, Avin Oil, Coral, Heracles Group, Imerys Greece etc., were distinguished, which further highlights the significance of the Ministry of National Defense’s distinction.
