Last Friday, on the National Holiday of 28 October, the family of the Hellenic Aviation Society(HAS) and the broader spectrum of Hellenic Aviation, lost one of its most distinguished member and our first President, Mr. Emmanuel Keramianakis. Emmanuel had embraced right from the beginning the idea of the new scientific forum, was one of its co-founders in 2004, and served as President during the first three consecutive terms. He was a stellar example of public servant and honoured with his achievements the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority until his retirement as Head of D1 Directorate, Aviation Development. His personality and deep aviation knowledge was highly valued and respected both domestically and abroad. Above all, Emmanuel acted as a scholar actually and metaphorically, to a large number of the aviation community members, offering knowledge and expertise selflessly.
He will long be remembered!
The Board express their sincere condolences to his family, and unanimously resolved to donate €300 to MEROPION Philanthropic Foundation, in memoriam.
