Dear members, dear friends of the Hellenic Air Transport Association,
We are pleased to announce our established biennial two day scientific conference titled: “7th Aviation Conference: Air Transport of Today and Tomorrow”.
The Conference will be held on June 5 and 6, 2025 at the Sofitel Hotel of Athens International Airport.
The conference is addressed to all persons interested in and/or are active in the field of aviation industry, and the aviation ecosystem.
Indicatively (but not restrictively) the conference is open to contributions and presentations that are part of the following thematic sections:
Airlines, Policy & Development Strategies (Low Fare Companies, Corporate Partnerships, Synergies, Connectivity etc.)
Aviation Law (Analysis of the regulatory framework in general, legislation on overflights, roads, etc.)
Airports-Infrastructure-Aircraft and Passenger Services (Operation, management and non-aviation activities, investment, construction, maintenance and equipment, privatization, public-private partnerships (PPPs), hub and regional airports, etc.)
Air Traffic Control (Single European Sky, BLUE MED, remote air traffic control tower operations, FANS, privatization, etc.)
Flight, Facility and Operational Security (flight safety, accident investigation, personnel and passenger safety and security) and facilities, aircraft handling, baggage handling, biometrics, legislation, EU OPS, etc.)
Environment and New Technologies (ETS programme, biofuels, new generation engines, technological developments in aircraft, management of the airport environmental footprint management, flying cars, roads, etc.)
General Aviation (Air tourism, helicopters, seaplanes, waterways, etc.) Freight air transport and logistics (Infrastructure, Safety, Regulations and Legislation, efficient management and operation, etc.)
Aviation Medicine (Air Ambulance, Airworthiness Assessment crew assessment, fear of flying, post-traumatic stress due to an incident or accident, etc.)
The official language of the conference is Greek, but presentations in English are also accepted.
All those interested in presenting a paper are invited to submit a paper. submit a title and a 200-word abstract no later than Friday 23 May 2025, via the easychair platform at: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=has2025
Abstracts should include the details of the presenters (full name, title, contact details) and 3-5 keywords (keywords).
All abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. The authors will be informed of the acceptance of their contributions by Wednesday 28 May 2025.
The issue of the abstracts will be posted on the SAA website with free access. Those presenters who wish to do so may submit a full paper after the conference in the international scientific journal Journal of Air Transport Studies published electronically by the Hellenic Air Transport Association (https://jats.aviationsociety.gr) according to the instructions that will be provided.
The presentation of the selected papers should be made in in PowerPoint format with a maximum duration of 20 minutes. The title of the presentation will be should be given in Greek and English. The name of the presenter and the accompanying title (academic, professional or other) should be given in Greek and English.
The conference is held under the auspices of the Tourism Workshop.
Transport, Infrastructure and Destination Development of the University of the Aegean (https://ttidd.tourem.aegean.gr/ ) and attendance/participation is FREE of charge.
The conference programme will be periodically updated and posted on the Hellenic Air Transport Association’s website (www.aviationsociety.gr ) as well as on its social media. The final programme will be announced and sent electronically to all participants.
